Earth Day Celebrations (April 20, 2010)

On 20 April, Earth Day celebrations were held in Sanskar Kendra School, Noida. Steria CSR along with volunteers from Greenpeace organised discussions on saving earth, enacted a skit and conducted a paper bag making activity followed by an oath to save environment with 200 children. Earth Day is observed across the world on 22 April. 

Workshop on 'Women Empowerment' (April 8, 2010)

On 08 April’10, a workshop on ‘Women Empowerment’ was conducted at Samskaar in Begumpur, Malviya Nagar Delhi by Ms.Kiran Singh from Gender Resource Centre, Delhi. The 2 hours workshop for 50 slum women was held to create awareness among the women regarding social legislation, legal literacy, domestic violence, HIV/AIDS, women health, female infanticide, foeticide, child marriage, importance of literacy, income generation and savings.  

Fund Raising for Sai Kripa

In April, an amount Rs.30000/- was raised by Hemant Batra from Yorkshire Water team for Sai Kripa, an organisation who takes care of destitute and orphan children. The funds raised will also be matched by Steria and directed to help Sai Kripa for supporting the education, food and shelter needs of the children.

Karate Children Test

Karate children have passed the Orange belt (11 children) and Yellow belt (4 children) test on 01 April 2010, from Junior High School Sec-12. (Client Sponsored School – Scottish Widows).

National Karate Competition

4 children (2 boys, 2 girls) have been selected for National karate competition to be held at Haridwar Uttar Pradesh, from 21-24 May’10. (Client Sponsored School – Scottish Widows).
