Summer Camp at Mambakkam, Sholinganallur and Padma Adarsh (April 12 -15, 2010)

250 children from 3 primary schools (Mambakkam, Sholinganallur and Padma Adarsh) in Chennai participated in the 3 day summer camp from 12 April to 15 April. The summer camp was conducted by the 3 CSR team members along with volunteers in the respective schools. Story telling sessions, puppet making, drawing competition, yoga, art and crafts, songs and rhymes along with actions were taught to the children. 

Summer Camp for High School Students (April 20-24, 2010)

Steria

Summer camp for the high school children was organised for 5 days form 20 April to 24 April 2010 from 10am to 5pm, in Padma Adarsh School campus. 200 students from Medavakkam School, Kelambakkam School, BKHM School, Thiruporur HS School, Sholinganallur Middle School and Padma Adarsh HS School participated in the camp. Students attended Karate training, arts and crafts, learnt dance with the help of professional trainers. Carpentry training was conducted for boys and mehendi art for girls. Also, spoken English classes apart from career counselling sessions and craft making were also conducted. On 26 April, at the conclusion held in Steria campus in Chennai, the children displayed their learnings from the camp and also staged a cultural performance. Steria Norway sponsored the school bags for all the participants of the summer camp in Chennai.  

TNWDC Bazaar

TNWDC bazaar was organised for the employees for 2 days in Steria Chennai office. The sales for the 2 day bazaar was Rs.1,50,000/- . Dress materials, artificial jewels, pickles, jams, curios, jute bags, etc were displayed during the sale. 

 

 

 

Steria Supervisory Board Members Visit (April 2, 2010)

Steria Supervisory Board members visited Padma Adarsh Higher Secondary School on 2nd April. Though the school was closed due to ‘Good Friday’, some of the senior children came to the school and demonstrated their skills to the guests. The children from the orphanage staged a small performance. The Board members distributed gifts and snacks to all the children, the old aged women and the differently abled women.
