LTSB Community Day in Chennai and Noida

Steria

The LTSB team celebrated the Community Day on 20 September in schools supported by Steria. This is a LTSB account initiative across India and is organized and executed by the LTSB team supported by Steria India CSR. The team, this year, decided to hold a painting/drawing competition for the children of Mambakkam Primary School in Chennai and for the children of Adarsh Prathmik Vidyalaya Sec 22 School in Noida.

In Chennai as well as Noida, the LTSB team was present in full strength at the school when it opened at 9.30am. They distributed crayons, water colors, paper and pencil to the children. In Chennai, for children from class 1 to class 3 the theme was – my home, fruits, vegetables – while for children from class 4 and class 5 the theme was Indian festivals. While in Noida, the children were encouraged to draw any theme of their own choice. Soon the children were busy giving expression to their artistic imagination. Deciding the winners was not very easy, but all the same had to be done and prizes were distributed to the winning works of art. After a round of biscuits and juice the children put on a small song and dance performance for the visitors. The day’s festivities finally ended around 1.30pm.

Great efforts by the LTSB team in India. Well done…

Rose Day in Steria

Steria

Rose Day on Steria Chennai campus was observed on 19 September. This day also turned out to be a major fundraiser for the ODC kitty. Children from Mambakkam Primary were the prime movers behind this day. They were present in strength very early and as the Steria staffers started trooping in to office, they were each given a rose by the kids and asked to drop their contributions into the box. Who can say no to a child? Rose Day added more than Rs.14000 to the ODC fund. Thank you Mambakkam children!

In Noida, Rose Day was observed on 14 August to tie in with Indian Independence Day. Rose day here was mainly initiated by the Experian team, including Shobha Tirkey, Raje Kaushik and Deepak Dixit. They were ably supported by volunteers from Acorn, Boots, Acos, Boscoe, Scottish Widows etc. On the 14 August, Noida staff coming to office in the morning were warmly welcomed by the volunteer team and persuaded to buy a rose to mark Indian Independence Day as well as to help raise funds for Steria India Foundation. At Noida too, more than Rs.14000 was raised that day.

In Pune, Rose Day was celebrated on 23 September. Children from Talawade PCMC School were in Steria office appealing to staff to participate in the One Day Challenge raffle by presenting a rose. The gesture was well appreciated by staff in Pune.

Chocolate Day at Noida

Steria

After successfully executing Rose Day the trio of Shobha Tirkey, Deepak Dixit and Raje Kaushik along with Renu Banerjee, Bhavesh Kataria and Devinder Kaur were back with a new fundraiser – Chocolate Day – which was observed on 12 September. The entire Experian and LTSB teams were part of this initiative. They were also supported by staff volunteers from Acorn, Acos, Scottish Widows, Boots, Boscoe etc.

What was on offer this time were delicious chocolates from Caferrels, elegantly wrapped in roses, in both combo and hamper packings. The offering was so visually appealing and the contents so delightfully tasty that demand soon went ahead of supply and there was a mad scramble among one and all to lay their hands on a packet of these goodies. By the end of the day, Steria India Foundation, the charity for which this fundraiser was held was richer by almost Rs.25000. The India CSR team truly salutes the unbridled enthusiasm of these Noida staff CSR volunteers and their strong commitment to do their bit for the underprivileged, especially for those children not as fortunate as our own.
