Gully cricket was back this year as part of the ODC activities in India. MC Barathkumar – the lead for Gully Cricket in Chennai helped by giving inputs to volunteers in Noida and Pune on the rules necessary to make Gully a great success. A total amount of Rs.42000/- was raised in Chennai, while in Noida the tournament was named as Cricennis Cup and raised Rs.42000/-. In Noida, sponsorships were received by vendors for Cricennis Cup as well. Due to rains in Pune, Gully Cricket will be held in November’09.

Dental Check-up camps (Dt of publishing: 1 Oct 2009)

7000 children covered

A dental check up camp was conducted in partnership with D.Y.Patil Dental College for 8 Steria supported primary schools in Pune in September for more than 7000 children. The CSR team along with the Steria appointed teachers coordinated the efforts. D.Y.Patil Dental College will be undertaking also the basic preventive treatments like fluoride application, pit and fissure sealants, incipient caries (cavities), cleaning and filling etc., on a need basis to the children.
