Each One Teach One Launched on 01 May'09 in Noida
Each One Teach One Programme was conceived to address the shortage of teachers in Adarsh Prathmik Vidyalaya Sec22 School in Noida. 35 staff teaching volunteers led by P. Radhakrishna have enrolled for this project which was launched on 01 May'09, with volunteers taking classes since 8.30am till 1pm. The programme could not really take off due to the sudden closure of the Government schools in Noida due to the heat wave conditions. The programme will continue as per the original schedule from 1 July'09 when the schools reopen.
Teacher Training Programme - Steria Norway - Govt. Higher Secondary School Thiruporur
Teacher training program in basics of computers was conducted from 24 to 30 April 2009 in the Steria Norway sponsored school. The training workshop was conducted by our Steria volunteer team for 8 teachers. Due to election duty for the teachers, the training could not be completed but will resume in June 2009 after the reopening of the school.
Immunization Program In partnership with Max India Foundation
Immunization Program - Steria India CSR partners with Max India Foundation and Max New York Life Insurance - to provide vaccination to children between 0-12 years of age for BCG, DPT, MMR, Measles and Hepatitis B. This initiative will see employees from Steria India Ltd. and Max New York Life Insurance along with doctor volunteers joining together to conduct the immunization program. More than 300 parents were met and data collected for the medical camp scheduled for July'09.
Rajendra Ashram Environment Education Promoters
Environment Education Promoters (EEP) and Steria staff volunteers, conducted a workshop to teach children on "How to grow common herbs and benefit from them" at Rajendra Ashram. 40 boys planted 10 different varieties of herbs under guidance from Mrs and Mr Nagpal - the founders of EEP along with Steria staff volunteers
Green Warrior Programme In partnership with Greenpeace
Greenpeace and Steria Noida conduct Green Warrior Program at Sanskar Kendra School and Samskaar in April. A short presentation was followed by a drawing competition, where the children were asked to express their thoughts on the environment through drawings. The best drawings were given prizes along with merit certificates.
