In Noida, tree plantation drive at Bhangel School was conducted on Saturday, 08 August’09 with 12 volunteers from Steria. They planted 50 saplings in the school premises. Children were given the responsibility to adopt a plant and nurture it. Saplings were provided by World Wildlife Fund. Volunteers did everything including digging pits, preparing the ground and after planting, watering the plants. In Pune, in partnership with the Dept. of Forest - PCMC, planted 60 trees in PCMC Steria supported schools on 31 July 09. Steria appointed teachers contacted officers of the Dept on behalf of 6 schools principals requesting for the plants and preparation required for the plantation. 4 volunteers ie. Bharat Bhatt, Zaheer Sayad, Jayprakash, Rajesh Budharani and Chaitrali (CSR Champion) participated in the drive. Environment club children from 4 schools were present and agreed to take on the responsibility of taking care of the plants.
HINI Flu Awareness Sessions (Dt of publishing: 9 Sept 2009)

In Noida, Swine Flu awareness session was held on Friday, 21 August’09 in Yash Memorial School and Noida Kanya Inter College by Steria Noida CSR team along with our dedicated staff volunteer - Daman Dev Sood. Senior children of the schools were made aware of causes, symptoms and measures for prevention of the disease. Swine flu literature in English & Hindi was also distributed to the school authorities in order to conduct the same workshop by these senior children for the teachers, extended staff and the rest of the school. Similar sessions were also conducted by EOTO volunteers in Junior High School Sec-12 School. Children were also asked to share the information with their friends, family & neighbours. In Pune and Chennai, Mentorship sessions in August covered the topic of swine flu. Students were informed about the symptoms, precautionary measures, treatment for the disease etc. A skit and poster making on the same subject was taught to the children, which was later presented by the students in the school assembly.
Immunization Camp (Dt of publishing: 8 Sept 2009)

In Noida, Immunization Camp was held in Adarsh Prathmik Vidyalaya Harola on Thursday, 20 August’09 and on Saturday, 29 August’09 in partnership with Max India Foundation. On 20 August 2009, around 200 children and on 29 August 2009 - 115 children were given vaccination for Hepatitis B. A team of doctors and nurses along with volunteers from Max New York Life Insurance and Max India Foundation and Steria volunteers – Shipi Jain, Alok, Shweta Bali and Srividya Shankar, visited Adarsh Prathmik Vidyalaya Harola Sector-5 managed the entire programme.
